Walter M. Raitter

December 8, 1925 — March 17, 2014

Walter M. Raitter, 88, of Woodbury Heights, passed away on March 17, 2014. Walt was born in Luzerne Twp., PA; in 1957 he resided in Oak Valley before moving to Woodbury Heights 33 years ago. He was a Supervisor of Electrical Engineering Draftsman for the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard for 38 years, retiring in 1982. Walt Served in the US Army during WWII. He was a communicant of St. Margaret Church, serving as a Eucharist Minister and avid volunteer since 1963; Knights of Columbus Council#13259; member of their Mens Club and the Men of Malvern. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels.

Walt is survived by his wife of 35 years Livia N. Trama; sons Dennis W. (Donna) Raitter of Kingsland, GA, John Slavek of Mickleton, Lawrence Slavek of West Deptford; daughter Julie Raitter-Sandberg (Tom) of Jamison, PA; brother John; sisters Jean, Peggy, Mary Lou, Alice, Ann brother-in-law Tony Trama; special cousin Jim Forney; grandchildren Rebecca, Nicole, Samantha, Ian, Arianna, Devon & Christie and 6 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife Yvonne P. Ruschalk; daughter Livia Slavek; brothers Bill, Ed, Frank sister Wanda & Rita.
Visitation Friday 9am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12noon at the Infant Jesus Parish, St. Margarets Church 3rd St. Woodbury Heights, NJ under the direction of DAVIS & WAGNER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES Woodbury, NJ. Interment with Military Honors Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
