Vera L. Jablow, 80, of Pitman, died on Jan. 15, 2010. She was born and raised in Zagreb, Croatia. After surviving WWII there, she lived in Italy for 2 years. She came to the U.S. in 1956, residing first in Sewell and later rasing her family in Woodbury, then Westville. She moved to Pitman 9 years ago. Helping others was important to her: She worked as a registered nurse at Lakeland Psychiatric Hospital and also volunteered at Underwood and for the Red Cross. Vera was a member of the Westville Women's Club and a frequent traveler. She also greatly enjoyed going to casinos and having the companionship of her cats, two of whom (Tess & Baby) survive.
Vera was predeceased by her husband Warren in 1991. She is survived by her son Ray (Cheryl) of Malaga; daughter Valerie Jablow (William Horne) of Washington, DC; grandchildren Justine (Rob) Meehan, Jenna, Jaelyn, Charlie & 1 month old great grand daughter Veronica Lynn.
Visitation Wed. 10am until the memorial service at 11am at the DAVIS & WAGNER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES 171 Delaware St. Woodbury, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society.
