Shirley J. Wakemen

Shirley J. Wakemen (nee Stephens), 74, of Woodbury, passed away on November 8, 2017. She was born in Woodbury and resided in Brooklawn before moving to Woodbury over 50 years ago. Shirley graduated from Cooper University School of Nursing. She worked at Cooper University Hospital, Underwood Hospital, Green Brier Convalescent Center and Woodbury Family Practice. She was a member of Kemble Memorial United Methodist Church Silver Circle and a Brownie & Girl Scout Troop Leader.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband William C. Wakemen Jr. She is survived by her daughter Sandra (Jeffrey) Hitchens; 2 sons William C. III (Donna) & Stephen (Jaclyn) Wakemen; 2 sisters Carolyn (Richard) Wiest & Robyn (Daniel) Austin; 7 grandchildren Joshua, Alexandra, Zachary, Ryan, Madelyn, Jacob & Brady.
Visitation Monday 10am until the service at 12noon at the Kemble Memorial United Methodist Church 19 S. Broad Street Woodbury, NJ under the direction of DAVIS & WAGNER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES Woodbury, NJ. Interment Woodbury Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Kemble Memorial UMC or the Greater Woodbury Cooperative Ministries Food Bank 330 E. Barber & Evergreen Avenues, Woodbury, NJ 08096.
