Michael A. Karafyllakis

Michael A. Karafyllakis, 62, passed away peacefully at home after a short battle with pancreatic cancer on Friday October 2, 2009. Born August 13, 1947 to Antonis & Niki Karafyllakis in Kalymnos Greece, he moved to the United States in the 1960's. He moved to West Deptford in 1971, where he has resided for the past 38 years.

Upon graduating high school, Michael served in Vietnam. He was a dedicated employee of Lyons and Sons in Moorestown for over 20 years, and a part time employee of Maple Leaf Lawn Service. Michael was a hard worker, fully dedicated to his work and his family. He was married to his wife Gail for 37 years. He enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and taking his son to Kixx games. Michael greatly loved his only grandson Ryan and enjoyed playing and spending time with him.

Michael is survived by his wife Gail (nee Anderson); son Anthony at home; daughter Amy of West Deptford; mother Niki Karafyllakis, brother Steve both of W. Palm Beach, FL; and grandson Ryan.

Visitation Tuesday 9am until the service at 11am at the DAVIS & WAGNER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES 171 Delaware St. Woodbury, NJ. Interment Eglington Cemetery.
