Margaret "Peggy" L. Petkus, 86, of Cherry Hill, passed away on February 26, 2015. She worked for Bell Telephone in Philadelphia from 1945 to 1974. Peggy was a graduate of St. Ludwig's and J.W. Hallahan Catholic Girls High School where she was Mickey Mouse the school mascot. In her younger years she enjoyed Wildwood, Boat House Row, and the Philadelphia Social Scene & Vesper Club. During her married years she enjoyed cooking, hosting her friends "Cead Mile Failte," visiting the Cove at Brigantine, summers on the boat, reading cookbooks, gardening magazines, home decorating magazines, wine magazines, books on tea leaves, horoscopes, and gossip magazines, cocktails on her back porch, laughing with friends at the Warwick, reminiscing about old times and spending time with her beloved poodles Louis Phillipe Parfait & Jacque Robert. At her new home at St. Mary's in Cherry Hill she enjoyed, discussing her Irish Heritage & Philly sports teams, made many friends, the camaraderie of the staff, sharing stories of Hallahan, Boat House Row & countless memories and the time talking with the Bishop Eustace volunteers about their studies and plans for the future.
Peggy was married to her Marine, and banker, Bob "The Bear" for 54 years until his death in 2010. She is predeceased by her siblings Francis J. Smith, Marion Webber & Geraldine C. Farrell. She is survived by her brother William T. Smith; nieces/nephews Gwynn Tartaglione, F. Scott Smith, Susan Innocenzo & Robert Farrell and special cousins William Schaefer & Robert Wardlow.
