Karen D. Barney

Karen D. Barney (nee Dennis), 87, of West Deptford, passed away on February 12, 2024. Karen was born in Sunburst, Montana; she resided in Wenonah for over 50 years before moving to West Deptford. She also had a summer home in Strathmere for 30 years. She was a nurse at the Cherry Hill Racetrack and then for Gloucester County Family Health in Woodbury. It was rare to see Karen without a smile. She never complained about anything and always had the best outlook on life. Karen thoroughly enjoyed traveling the world to places like China, Peru, Alaska, and all over Europe. Her favorite place was at the Strathmere beach with her family and extended unrelated family. Karen especially enjoyed making people smile who she didn't know. Please take some time today to make someone you don't know smile in memory of Karen.

Karen was predeceased by her husband John; son Scott; brothers Howell & Joe and sisters Maureen & Shebie. She is survived by her children Michael (Sandra) Barney of Florida, Sharon Reisenweaver & Patrick Barney both of West Deptford; grandchildren Steven, Chelsea, Michael, Brandon & Leah and great grandchildren Savannah & Sophia.

Visitation 6 to 8pm Friday February 16th and 10am Saturday February 17th until the service at 11am at the DAVIS & WAGNER FUNERAL HOME 171 Delaware St. Woodbury, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org. Memories & condolences shared at daviswagner.com
