Joseph Vincent Morgan Sr., of National Park, NJ passed away April 1, 2012 at Underwood Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Camden, NJ he was the 7th son of Francis Leo and Mary Emma Morgan. Joe honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a Korean War Veteran. He retired in 1993 from the American Dredging Company, Philadelphia, PA where he was a Tug Boat Captain for 38 years. A 50 year resident of National Park, Joe loved spending lots of time with his family and enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, bird carving, metal detecting and model building. He was also a member of the VFW and the Bird Carving Association.
Joe was predeceased by his loving wife of 48 years, Elizabeth "Betty" (nee Saurmilch) Morgan and daughter, Betty Ann Thompson.
He is survived by his children: Marilyn J. (John) Hassel of Thorofare, NJ, Sandra (John) Spellman of National Park, NJ and Joseph V. (April Oeffler) Morgan of Gibbstown, NJ. Joe is also survived by his brother, Kenneth (Shirley) Morgan of Waterford, NJ; 12 Grandchildren; 10 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild. He is also predeceased by his brothers Francis (Betty), John (Hazel), Edward (Lenore), Robert (Marion), Leonard (Mary) and Eugene (Mary).
