John W. Sjoberg

John W. (Jack) Sjoberg, 88, of Mickleton, died Tuesday, February 21, 2012. Beloved husband of 34 years to Sandy (nee Hankel). Devoted father of Gregg Carr (fiancee Jen Madden) and Kathy (Tom) McAvoy. Loving and proud Pa of John, Cassie & Danny McAvoy and Kevin & Ashley Carr.

Jack was born and raised in Springfield, MO. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II and served on the Everett Larson. After graduating with an MS degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Missouri School of Mines-Rolla, he joined Socony Vacuum Oil Co. in Augusta, Kansas, and later transferred to Socony Mobil Oil Co.in Paulsboro, NJ and retired after 38 years. He enjoyed swimming, sailing in the Chesapeake, reading, crossword puzzles, mall walking and he was his family's "walking dictionary," science expert, and Jeopardy Champion.

Visitation Saturday 9am until the service at 11am at the DAVIS & WAGNER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES 171 Delaware St. Woodbury, NJ. Interment with Military Honors at Woodbury Memorial Park.
