John 'Jack' Cranston

John (Jack) Cranston, age 85, passed away at home on Monday, April 2, 2012.

Born May 14, 1926 to Robert D. and Laura (Hofius) Cranston, he was the brother of the late Robert III and Anne Nicolaisen.

Jack is survived by his wife of 66 years Flora (Floss) Conard Cranston, daughter Susanne Blaylock and son Jack (wife Laurie), grandchildren Matthew, Joshua and Emily Graziano (husband Andrew), and great-granddaughter Sophia Graziano.

A 1944 graduate of Woodbury High School, Jack played on the 1943 Thundering Herd Football team, the first to beat Collingswood in 19 years. He served in the US Navy during World War II, and in the Army Reserve during the Korean Conflict.

Jack retired from Mobil Research & Development after 37 years. During that time he became Supervisor in the Analytical department. He was active in the Woodbury Sports Alumni, the Red Horsemen, enjoyed bowling and tennis, and especially loved watching his grandchildren in all their activities.

The funeral will be held at DAVIS & WAGNER FUNERAL HOME 171 Delaware St. Woodbury, NJ on Friday, April 6. Friends and family may call at 12:00 noon, and services are scheduled for 1:00 PM. Burial will be at Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jude's Tribute Program, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis TN 38148.
