Jeffrey M. Wagner

October 28, 1946 — April 28, 2021

The family of Jeffrey M. Wagner (age 74) of Sewell, regretfully announce that Jeff went home to be with the Lord on April 28, 2021, after a 17-year battle with the effects of Agent Orange as a result of his service during the Vietnam war, where he was a medic and received many medals including the Bronze Star. Jeff was born in Philadelphia to Howard G. Wagner and Julia (nee Murray) and grew up in Woodbury NJ where he graduated from Woodbury High School. Following high school, he graduated Union College in 1968 and that summer married his college sweetheart Joy.
Jeff and Joy both began teaching careers and after ten years of teaching, Jeff went back to school where he earned his earned R.N. degree. Working throughout the years at Mobil Oil and Seabrook house, Jeff retired in 2012.
Jeff spent all of his time with his bride Joy, traveling to places including Italy, Spain, Alaska, Clearwater & Dunedin Florida and traveling with the Phillies organization and visited 20 Major League Baseball Parks. This generous Papa and Nono took their entire family on a wonderful Disney Vacation as well as trips to Lake George and numerous family vacations to Ocean City, NJ. When not traveling with Joy, he was sure to be seen at one of many sporting events that his 5 grandchildren participated in. He was their biggest fan.Jeff had a love for the theater and he and Joy often visited New York City to attend Broadway shows. He also performed with various amateur theater groups in the area where his theatrical personality was in full display. Other loves of his life include his two dogs, Casey, a 16-year-old beagle and Kyle a retired greyhound racer.
Jeff also spent his time and gave his service to The Veterans Administration as a volunteer in both Philadelphia as well as the clinic in Sewell, NJ. He was a member of the VFW, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion and the Vietnam Veterans of America. Jeff was a lifetime member of Kemble Memorial United Methodist Church where he served as a Trustee, the staff Parish Relations Board, The Mens Discipleship Group and a frequent Usher. He was also a member of the Clarksboro Masonic Lodge #87.
Jeff is survived by his wife Joy (nee Sartorio) whom he shared 52 years of marriage, his two children, Jill (Jeff) and Jason (Sharon) and Papa to his 5 grandchildren; Grace (22), Cooper (19), Chase (12), Brody (11) and Allie (6). He also is survived by his brother Howard G. Wagner (Sandy), his niece Karen (Steve) his nephew Kurt (Mark) and his sister Linda Paul, sister-in-law HopeSartorio along with nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by his father Howard G. Wagner, his mother Julia Wagner Paul and his step-father Russell Paul.
Visitation will be at 10 am on Friday May 28th until theMemorial Service at 11am at the Kemble Memorial United Methodist Church 19 S. Broad Street, Woodbury, NJ. Burial will be private with full Military Honors.
