Helen A. Holtzheimer

Helen Harper Holtzheimer, 95, of Woodbury Heights. Our beloved Helen passed away peacefully on November 27, 2013. Born in Philadelphia she graduated from South Phila High School in 1935 and soon after married William Holtzheimer. They had two children, William Jr. and Diane.

Helen worked as an Underwriter for Aetna Casualty Insurance from 1951 to 1976. She retired from Aetna then worked for the McGlone Insurance Agency from 1977-1982. Helen and Bill moved to Woodbury Heights in 1962 and were active members of their church and enjoyed spending time with extended family. Helen was a devoted supporter of animal welfare causes and rescued her last dog at the age of 85.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband and son and is survived by her daughter, Diane Lopez of Sequim Washington, her 5 grandchildren William P of Woodbury Heights, Mark E of Mantua, Linda Banks of Franklinville, Reynaldo Lopez of San Diego, Geronimo Lopez of Glassboro, 8 great grandchildren, and Roxie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Monday December 2, 2013 at Christ Episcopal Church 62 Delaware St., Woodbury NJ under the direction of DAVIS & WAGNER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES Woodbury, NJ. Internment Fernwood Cemetery, Philadelphia PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal Church Endowment Fund, Peninsula Friends of Animals, Box 404 Sequim WA 98382, or your local no-kill animal rescue.
