Geraldine L. Winkler, on August 7, 2011. Born on July 8, 1916 in Swedesboro, NJ to Sr. Earl & Anna Longacre, moved to Woodbury during the 1920's where her father owned and operated Longacres store for over 40 years. Mrs. Winkler graduated from Woodbury High School in 1934, Pierce Business School in 1936 and later attended the University of Pennsylvania. Mrs. Winkler worked for several years for the General Accident Insurance Co., Philadelphia and later worked for 32 years as senior secretary to the plant manager of the Ruberoid Co. later known as GAF Corporation, Gloucester City, retiring in 1979. Mrs. Winkler married Frederick A. Winkler in 1955. She was a member of Kemble Memorial United Methodist Church for over 70 years and a member of the Friendly Circle of the church.
During her retirement, Mrs. Winkler joined and became active in the Woodbury Woman's Club, later becoming President, and was the treasurer for over 20 years. She also was an active member of the Mickleton Garden Club and served on various committees. Mrs. Winkler and her husband have resided in Clarksboro since 1962.
Mrs. Winkler is survived by her husband Frederick A. Winkler; sister Helen Devitt of Louisville, KY & many nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her brother J. Raymond Longacre of Clarksboro.
Visitation Wednesday 10:30 to 11:30am at the DAVIS & WAGNER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES 171 Delaware St. Woodbury, NJ. Funeral services 12noon at the Kemble Memorial United Methodist Church, Woodbury. Interment Eglington Cemetery.
