George T. Mitchell Jr.

George T. Mitchell Jr., 97, of Cherry Hill, passed away on October 13, 2023. George was born in the Fox Chase section of Philadelphia and has resided in Cherry Hill, NJ since 1980. He was a Benefits Coordinator for Sun Oil in Philadelphia. He was a US Army WWII veteran. George was a Communicant of Christ Episcopal Church of Woodbury, NJ, an accomplished church organist, and served on the Vestry for many years.

George is survived by his wife of 44 years Joan Alexandra Fairman Mitchell; son George T. “Bud” Mitchell III and his wife Luisa; daughter Nancy Milnes and his grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brothers A. Thomas & Richard A. Mitchell and his son-in-law Jay Milnes.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am Thursday, October 19th at Christ Church 62 Delaware Street Woodbury, NJ followed by the interment at the Cemetery of the Memorial Church of St. Luke, Philadelphia, PA under the direction of Davis & Wagner Funeral & Cremation Services.
