Eleanor I. Wright

Eleanor I. Wright (nee DaShiell), 97, of West Deptford, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2023, at home with her family. Eleanor married her late husband Preston M. Wright on January 29, 1949, and has resided in West Deptford since 1956 and lived in the same home until her passing. She was a devoted mother, grand and great grandmother, a "mom" to her childrens friends and a friend to everyone she met. She worked at Acme Market in Woodbury for 22 years, retiring in 1991.
Eleanor was born on September 1, 1925, in Philadelphia, PA to the late Sidney A. and Esther Ida (Kohl) DaShiell. Eleanor was predeceased by her son Preston "Gary" Wright and her best friend and partner in crime, Florence LeRoy, our Aunt Flossie. She was also predeceased by her sisters Caroline Timko, Betty Armstrong, Madeline DaShiell, and her brother Martin DaShiell. Eleanor is survived by her children Barbara J. (Jack) McIlvaine, Kenneth M. (Lisa) Wright, Kathie E. Wright & Carole R. Gundle; grandchildren Melissa, Lianna, Rodger, David, Preston "PJ", Nicole, Russell, Kenny, Cassandra, Kathlyn & Joshua and great grandchildren Braeden, Jack, Jacob, Aiden, Stefan, Daniel & coming soon, MaKenzie.
Eleanor is also predeceased by her step son-in-law Richard "Dick" Ivey, who she loved immensely. She is also survived by her stepdaughter Diane Ivey, grandchildren Denise, Debra & Ritchie and many great grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Wednesday at 11am until the celebration of life at 12:30pm at the DAVIS & WAGNER FUNERAL HOME, 171 Delaware Street, Woodbury, NJ. Interment Woodbury Memorial Park.
