Edward F. Moran Jr.

Edward F. Moran Jr., 85, of Gibbstown, passed away on December 20, 2017. Ed was born in Lowell, MA; he was raised in Moorestown and resided in Wenonah before moving to Gibbstown. Ed served in the US Navy. Ed received his PhD in chemistry, graduating from Villanova University, the University of Pennsylvania and did his Post Doctorate at Yale University. He retired in 2002 from DuPont as a Chemist where he was responsible for several patents. He was a member of the American Chemical Society, the Tri-State County Dancers and he traveled the world with his wife Maria.
Ed is survived by his wife for 24 years Maria (nee Soares), children Denise Moran of Westampton, Michael Moran of Woodbury, Steven Moran of Somers Point, Colleen Moran of Woodbury, Jose Silva (Joe Liao)of New Zealand, Maria (Ralph) Pucca of Somerdale, Luis (Sandra) Silva of New Castle, DE, Paulo (Linda) Silva of Marco Island, FL & Cristina(David) Higgins of East Amhurst, NY; sister Mary (Ray) Tetrault; brother Joseph (Linda) Moran; 10 grandchildren Tyler, Darcy & Evan Stellman, Megan Moran, Kristin (John) March, Jason (Lori), Lauren & Nathanial Silva and Adam & Stephanie Higgins and 3 great grandchildren Max, Luke & Clarissa. He was predeceased by his brother Robert.
Visitation Friday 1 to 3pm at the DAVIS & WAGNER FUNERAL HOME 171 Delaware St. Woodbury, NJ 08096. Military Honor 3pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital at stjude.org or CHOP at chop.edu. Memories and condolences shared at daviswagner.com
