Dorothy A. Woodward, 89, of Westville, on May 12, 2011. Dorothy was born in National Park. She graduated from Woodbury High School in 1939 and was a star athlete in Field Hockey, Basketball & Tennis. She was a US Reserve Field Hockey player and toured the US in 1940. She then taught tennis under Cap Paine from 1955 to 1960 and was Elected into the Woodbury High School Hall of Fame. She worked for over 40 years at Westbrook Bowling Lanes in promotions and as an instructor she was a top amateur bowler. She was a 70 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Westville Womens Club, & a Trustee of the Westville Library.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Walter B. Woodward III. She is survived by 2 sons Thomas R. of Brooklawn & Walter B. IV "Chip" (Jo Ann) of Westville; 3 daughters Florence A. (William) Packer of Westville, Judith L. (Harold) Amick of Yuma, AZ & Grace Linda (George) Morris of Deptford; 2 sisters Grace Warlow of Gibbstown & Ruth De Laney of FL; 14 grand children & 12 great grand children.
Visitation Wednesday 7 to 9pm and Thursday 10am until the service at 11am at the DAVIS & WAGNER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES 171 Delaware St. Woodbury, NJ. Interment Eglington Cemetery.
