Donald M. Kudrec, Md

Dr. Donald M. Kudrec, MD, 85, of Woodbury, passed away suddenly at home on February 1, 2017.

Dr. Kudrec, born and raised in Jessup, PA, was a graduate of University of Scranton, magna cum laude, received his medical degree from University of Pennsylvania in 1956 and interned at Pennsylvania Hospital.

He served as a Medical Officer for the US Coast Guard in Washington, DC from 1957 to 1959. He then moved with his wife Dorothy to Woodbury, NJ. where he started his solo family practice in 1962 and was still practicing as a primary care physician.

A former staff member and vice president at Underwood Memorial Hospital, he received the Medical Society of NJ Golden Merit Award for 50 years of service.

He was an Elder and active member of the Presbyterian Church at Woodbury.

Don was a veracious reader, an accomplished writer and Civil War & Abraham Lincoln Historian; he earned the George Washington Medal from the Freedom Foundation of Valley Forge and is a member of the Chapel of Four Chaplains Legion of Honor.

Among his greatest joys were spending time with family, meeting with friends weekly at Holts Cigar Club in Philadelphia, and traveling to Cape Cod, Hawaii, Gettysburg and Annapolis.

Dr. Kudrec will be greatly missed and remembered fondly as a devoted family man with strong faith, an inspiration to all.

Donald is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Dorothy (neeToth); 3 daughters Rebecca (Robert) Thompson of Swedesboro, Suzanne (Robert) Lloyd of Woodbury & Amy (Brian) Horner of Mullica Hill; 4 grandchildren Erin Thompson, Blake & Austin Horner and Jake Lloyd, and sister Ethel Hynak of Jessup, PA.

Visitation Wednesday 6 to 8pm and Thursday 9 to 10am at the DAVIS & WAGNER FUNERAL HOME 171 Delaware St. Woodbury, NJ. Funeral Service 10:30am at the Presbyterian Church at Woodbury 67 S. Broad St. Woodbury, NJ. Interment with Military Honors Eglington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Presbyterian Church at Woodbury or The American Heart Association.
