On July 3, 2013, Age 73, of Gloucester City, NJ, Chalie passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family who meant everything to him. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Carol A. (nee McCoy). He was the devoted father of Kelle Curran (Thomas), Chuck (Lori), Scott, and Kevin (Jen), adoring grandfather of Sean (Abby) and Tara Curran, Chelsea, Lindsay, Sydney, and Trey Thomson, Kyle, Darby, and Dylan Thomson, and Megan, Logan, and Erin Thomson, and admiring fan and great-grandfather of Cooper Curran.
Born on August 7, 1939 to the late James and Alice (nee Brauning), Chalie was a lifelong resident of Gloucester City. He graduated from Gloucester City High School in 1957. He was a member and past Master of the Gloucester Cloud Lodge, and Thrice Potent Master of the Excelsior Consistory Lodge of Collingswood. He was an active member and past president of the Gloucester City Lions. He was instrumental in the development of the Gazebo Rest Stop at the jogging track on Klemm Ave. Chalie was given the gift of life after receiving a heart transplant on June 21, 2001 and experienced many family milestones as a result of his second chance.


Friends and relatives are invited to celebrate Chalie's life Monday 7 to 9pm and Tuesday 10am until the Service at 11am at DAVIS & WAGNER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES 171 Delaware St. Woodbury, NJ.
