Carol A. Thomson (nee McCoy), 81, of Gloucester City, passed away on December 7, 2022. Carol was born on April 10, 1941 in Glendale, MD to Charles and Dorothy McCoy (nee Laphin). Carol moved to Gloucester City at an early age and was raised by her mother and stepfather Samuel Ewing. In her youth, Carol was a member of Gertrude Porters Portettes dance team and performed on the Al Alberts TV program and at USO shows. Her love of dancing continued throughout her life, and she was a huge fan of Dancing with the Stars. She was a graduate of Gloucester Catholic High School, class of 1958. She was a real estate agent with Labbree Realty in Gloucester City for many years. Carol was an avid reader, and as a faithful friend of the Gloucester City library, she borrowed several books a week. Carol exuded kindness and a charitable spirit to everyone she met. Most of all, Carol loved her family and arts & crafts. Many loved ones were recipients of her artistic talents in sewing, drawing, painting, ceramics, jewelry making, baking custom cakes, and designing handmade greeting cards. She especially loved scrapbooking and making Christmas ornaments with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Carol was predeceased by her husband of 53 years Charles W. Thomson and her brother Donald McCoy. She is survived by her children Kelle Curran (Thomas) of Gloucester Heights, Chuck (Lori) of Brooklawn, Scott (Luanne) of Williamstown, and Kevin of Gloucester; sisters Jayne (William) Harker and Donna (Gordon) Erdman; grandchildren Sean (Abby), Tara (Nicholas), Chelsea (Daniel), Lindsay, Sydney (Jeff), Trey, Kyle (Ashley), Darby (Ed), Dylan, Danielle, Megan, Logan, and Erin; great-grandmother of Cooper, Nolan, Chase, Leni, and Leo. She is also survived by many adoring nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday December 13th at 10am with a memorial service beginning at 11am at DAVIS & WAGNER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 171 Delaware Street, Woodbury, NJ. Inurnment will immediately follow at Harleigh Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Gift of Life Donor Program at donors1.org.
